Tessa Buswell, a senior at Poway High in California, placed second in the Division 1 girls final at the CIF San Diego Section Championships by covering the 3-mile layout in 17:54.6 at Balboa Park's Morley Field. Buswell, the reigning Division 1 state champion, helped Poway finish runner-up as a team by a 57-69 margin against Del Norte.
