Tessa Buswell, a junior at Poway High, won the Division 1 girls title at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Buswell, who finished 15th in Division 2 last season, covered the 5-kilometer layout in 17:25.0 to secure the first state crown in program history. Buswell qualified to compete Dec. 3 at Nike Cross Nationals at Glendoveer Golf Course in Oregon.
